Locks and Balloons: the 1.0.2 Cuppi update
Cuppi 1.0.2 is live. Introducing the Clear White theme, a complete redesign of the Birthdays feature, and respectful "In Memoriam" remembrance profiles.

Just 11 days after our 1.0.1 "Spring Clean" patch, we are incredibly happy to announce a brand-new version of Cuppi, packed with design updates, user-requested fixes, and even stronger security.
A new look for the minimalist: Clear White
Some people love a burst of colour, while others prefer clean simplicity. We aren’t dropping the "Millennial Grey" bomb just yet, but we are introducing a beautiful new theme: Cuppi Clear White. Paired with a subtle Victorian Winter pattern, it allows you to transform your digital home into a clean, minimalist space that still keeps that signature cosy Cuppi vibe.

A thoughtful redesign for Birthdays
Because Birthdays was one of the very first features we ever built, its design hadn't quite caught up with the rest of the app. We took it back to the drawing board to clean up the edges, remove the clutter, and add a fresh lick of paint.
You can now enjoy a much more tasteful, streamlined design. Plus, you can now tap on profile pictures to open them full-screen. We’re calling this the "Chelsea-Tap" update - named after my niece, who I watched repeatedly bashing the profile pictures with her finger, wondering why they wouldn't open. You can't beat real-life feedback!
Additionally, we’ve fixed the date-picker. You can now confidently scroll through the app without accidentally spinning the date wheel - we hated that just as much as you did, so we've replaced it with a clean dropdown menu. You can also now mute individual birthday notifications directly from the profile.

In Memoriam: A graceful transition
Life is not always celebration and joy. One of the hardest moments to face is when a loved one passes away. Because this is an extremely sensitive topic, we took our time to carefully design In Memoriam profiles. We wanted to introduce a different kind of profile - a quiet space for reflection and remembrance.
An In Memoriam profile preserves up to four cherished memory photos to look back on, complete with a gentle, slow firefly animation to bring a moment of peace when remembering those we've lost.
We have also completely overhauled the notifications for these profiles. You are in full control: you can toggle reminders on or off, and choose exactly whether you want to be gently reminded on their birth date, their date of passing, or both. We hope this feature brings comfort and gentle, heartwarming moments when you need them most.
We dedicate this feature to Jim Parkin—the most amazing dad and father-in-law the world has ever known. 🍂

Squashed bugs and extra convenience
Here is a quick breakdown of the smaller adjustments we’ve rolled out with this version:
- Home Feed: Fixed an issue to ensure all of your historical household posts load seamlessly.
- Security Centre: You can now see the active status of your security features at a glance, without having to tap into each individual setting.
- Visual Polish: Added a soft, feathered gradient to the end of the Home Feed for a more elegant look.
Quadruple-locked security
We’ve gone a step further with our infrastructure and "quadruple-locked" our servers to keep your household data entirely safe. In fact, we locked it down so tightly that we actually managed to lock ourselves out a few times during testing! As always, to keep your data safe from bad actors, we won't be sharing the exact technical details of these security patches.
We hope you will enjoy this new update. If you have any fresh ideas or features you’d love to see, please send us a suggestion using the Support page inside the app or via our website.
