We have implemented robust household management features to ensure you always remain in control as an Owner. If necessary - for instance, if a family member’s phone is lost or stolen - a Household Member can be Suspended immediately.
What happens during suspension?
When a member is suspended, they immediately lose access to all household data. For enhanced security, a command is sent to the device to wipe all local Cuppi data. Please note that this action only affects the local cache on that specific device and does not impact your encrypted server backups.
How to suspend a member
To revoke access, follow these steps:
- Tap your profile picture on the bottom menu bar.
- Select Household from the management list.
- Tap the name of the member you wish to suspend.
- Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner.
- Select Suspend User and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.
Important Limitations
The remote wipe and access revocation require an active internet connection. If the target device is in Airplane Mode or has no network connectivity, the suspension command cannot be received, and local data may remain temporarily accessible.
Because of this limitation, we highly recommend that all members enable Biometric Logins (FaceID or TouchID). This ensures the app automatically locks after 5 minutes in the background, providing a vital layer of protection even when offline.
