Let's get them back on track. Try these in order:

  1. Check the iPhone setting. Go to Notifications & Email in Cuppi. If you see a message saying notifications are turned off, tap Turn on notifications (or Open iOS Settings further down).
  2. Check the reminder is switched on. Each type has its own switch in Notifications & Email.
  3. Check your iPhone isn't hiding them. A Focus mode or Do Not Disturb can hold notifications back.
  4. Check your connection. Some reminders are sent from our servers and need an internet connection: the chores morning summary, car, budget and bank holiday reminders, and optional updates.
  5. Open Cuppi now and then. Reminders that are scheduled on your phone are topped up whenever you open the app.

Which notifications come from Cuppi's servers, and which are scheduled on my phone?

Scheduled on your phone (these work without a connection):

  • Bin day
  • Birthdays, anniversaries and In Memoriam
  • Pet medication, vaccinations, appointments and insurance
  • High priority chores

Sent from our servers (these need an internet connection):

  • The chores morning summary
  • Car reminders
  • Budget review reminders
  • Bank holidays
  • Optional updates, such as the weekly home summary

Because an iPhone limits how many reminders an app can schedule, Cuppi keeps the most important ones, like medication and bin day, if it ever runs short.

  • Pet medication: you set the dose times when you add the medication.
  • Chores morning summary: 7am, and car reminders: 8am. These times are fixed.

The bell in the bottom menu bar shows reminders that Cuppi has scheduled on your phone, such as bin day and birthdays, once they've arrived.

Some reminders sent from our servers, such as budget review reminders and bank holidays, are push notifications only, so they won't appear in the list.

Open Notifications & Email, then switch off the topics you don't want under Household Updates and Marketing. They're optional and off by default, so if you've never turned them on, you won't receive them.

You can also turn off all notifications for Cuppi in your iPhone's settings, though that will stop your reminders too.

Cuppi doesn't send promotional notifications or emails between 9pm and 9am in your household's time zone. Your reminders aren't affected, so a bin day or medication reminder arrives when you've asked for it.

If you'd like silence at other times, an iPhone Focus mode will do the trick.
